Scale-X is a strong and effective rust remover and converter for use on all types of rust removal tasks including vehicles, pipework, metalwork, tools, kitchen equipment and large industrial boilers. A popular choice with motorcyclists for cleaning and de-rusting petrol tanks on motorcycle renovation projects. It is one of the strongest formulations available at 45% phosphoric acid strength and is therefore much more effective than many other commercially available products found in hardware and motor accessory outlets. Ideal for cleaning tools and metal parts and is also very effective in removing rust stains from stone, brick and concrete floors.
How Does Scale-X Work?
Scale-X is strong, it is a specialist formulation based on phosphoric acid at a concentration of 45%. We choose phosphoric acid because although it is strong it is also safe to use on most types of metal. It works by quickly converting the brown rust (Iron Oxide) to Ferric Phosphate where after treatment it can be simply brushed or scrubbed away leaving a fresh metal surface. Once dried the surface can be painted or coated depending on the intended use. How to get rid of rust on a car, bike, boat, all vehicle renovation projects.
Scale-X can be used neat or can be diluted with water to suit the degree of scale to be removed. For rust removal pour into a plastic bucket or container and simply brush, spray or mop onto the affected area. When used as a descaler for kitchen equipment rinse thoroughly with clean water after descaling is completed.
