Patio Cleaning
Most patios tend to lose their smart appearance very quickly due to several factors including general dirt and grime, atmospheric pollution, weathering, bird droppings, tree sap and simply normal usage. Much of the dirt and grime rather than just sitting on the surface gradually works its way deep into the porous layers of the material. This makes cleaning with normal conventional type cleaners ineffective as they only clean the top surface, leaving behind much of the dirt and contamination deep within the pores.
Patio Marvel is an acidic type cleaner with the addition of specialized surfactants which are capable of penetrating into the porous material bringing all of the ingrained dirt and staining to the surface where it is effectively cleaned and washed away.
This product will instantly deep clean most patios and driveways removing stubborn dirt, stains, grime, rust marks, oil, grease and mineral deposits. The foaming patio cleaner also removes, hardened bird droppings, tree sap, oil stains, limescale and other common contaminants leaving patio and driveway areas bright and clean and restoring them to their former glory.
Pet owners (like ourselves) understandably worry about using strong products on surfaces where pets usually visit and play. Using Patio Marvel in these circumstances is not a problem. Obviously pets should be kept away while the product is being applied, but once the cleaning process is completed and the surface flushed with water it literally only takes minutes for the surface to dry out and then all pets can once again be allowed safely back onto the area.
Patio Marvel is perfect for most types of brick and paving slabs but we always suggest using with caution on natural stone surfaces. Natural stone can contain a variety of minerals which can sometimes cause staining when in contact with any type of acidic cleaner. Consequently in these circumstances we suggest always testing on a small inconspicuous area.
Please note that Patio Marvel is not suitable for use on tarmac surfaces.

How Strong Is Patio Marvel?
Patio Marvel is an excellent product and it is one of the strongest and most effective products available. The product is based on hydrochloric acid and the strength is approximately 21%. This formulation also contains a complex blend of surfactants which enable the deep cleaning properties of the product. Most other acid based cleaning products available in hardware stores, builders merchants and DIY stores contain a much lower concentration of acid, typically between 5% & 8%. This makes Patio Marvel at 21% a much stronger product which also gives the added advantage of the ability to dilute with water depending on the degree of contamination making the product exceptionally economical to use.

Efflorescence
We also supply this product to property cleaning and renovation companies who use it for the effective removal of efflorescence from external brickwork. Efflorescence is the chalk like white staining which can sometimes appear on all types of brickwork. This is caused by the mineral salts which are drawn to the surface of bricks when wet and later dry out causing the typical white marking on the surface.

How To Use
Method Of Use: The dilution rate depends mainly on the degree of contamination but Patio Marvel can be used from neat concentration up to around 1 : 4 with water. Dilute sufficient product as required with water in a plastic bucket or container (maximum dilution should be 1 part product to 3 or 4 parts water). Before applying Patio-Marvel wet the surface of the area to be cleaned with water, brushing away any puddles of standing water. Apply by spraying, pouring, mopping, or brushing directly onto the surface a small area at a time. Allow a few moments for the product to soak deep into the porous surface where the foaming cleaner will bring ingrained and deep contaminants to the surface. Agitate the surface vigorously with a stiff brush to ensure complete and thorough cleaning then simply rinse away with clean water. We suggest cleaning one small area at a time and agitate with a circular motion to ensure that the solution penetrates deep into the paving. Pay particular attention to the edges of paving when cleaning as these can sometimes receive less attention that the central areas.
Coverage will depend to a large extent on the degree of soiling and the type of surface being cleaned, but as a rough guide 5 litres would normally clean around 25 - 30 sq. mtrs.
