HOW TO CLEAN A GRAVESTONE OR HEADSTONE
When deciding on a cleaning product for a gravestone or headstone several factors should be considered. These include: The type of stone, for example: Marble, Limestone, Granite, Sandstone, Slate, etc. The reason why it is important to choose the right product is because using the wrong product can cause major damage to your headstone. Using the wrong product could cause staining on certain materials and it can even create hairline cracks, which later turn into major problems when rainwater and moisture entering the stone then develop into large cracks and breaks.
Another important factor is to determine the type of soiling on the surface of the headstone so that the most effective cleaning solution can be used.
For example:
Urban - general grime, dirt, bird droppings, sap, grease.
Carbonaceous - sooty contamination and soiling.
Efflorescence - white salt deposits.
Stains - metalic, oils, etc.

THE SOLUTION
Fortunately Halo has been developed taking into account each of the above factors so that you can be certain that you are using the right product containing the safest materials to give the optimum results.
Halo does not contain any acids or damaging alkalines such as sodium hydroxide which are not recommended for gravestone cleaning.
Halo does contain non-ionic surfactants which are electrically neutral cleaning agents that do not contribute to the formation of soluble salts. They provide better wetting of the stone surface and therefore speed up the removal of general soiling.

CLEANING HEADSTONES FOR GRAVES
How to clean a gravestone :
(Always as with any cleaning product test on an inconspicuous area of the headstone first)
Wet the surface to be cleaned before applying Halo. Spray onto the stone from approximately 15 - 20cm working from the bottom upwards one area at a time. Use a non abrasive to gently agitate the area using a circular motion to lift the contamination from the surface. After completion rinse down thoroughly with water to wash away any dirt, contamination and any remaining detergent.
